Hello from Grand Street in Alameda (#alamtg) where I thought I’d try out this new “radical bike lobby” t-shirt from @BikeEastBay
Hello from Grand Street in Alameda (#alamtg) where I thought I’d try out this new “radical bike lobby” t-shirt from @BikeEastBay
A helpful new innovation since I last went to a conference: double-sided name tags!
I spare my kids details about almost all Alameda City Council topics – but I have told them about Grand Street, where we cycle together (as well as drive). I look forward to telling them in the morning about tonight’s #alamtg vote for protected-bike lanes!
The day after Halloween and they’re already setting up for Christmas trees?
Followers of #alamtg may also recognize these parking lots as ones that a local NIMBY group photoshop’ed into a “simulation” of a HUGE HORRIBLE MIXED USE BUILDING!
“Clorox owns a number of household brands including […] Hidden Valley Ranch. Headquartered in Oakland since 1913…”
I knew the Oakland HQ, but the bleach company makes Ranch dressing?
Just as most federal holidays are observed on the closest Monday, Halloween should be observed on the nearest Saturday evening — every year.
After growing up in a post-war suburban neighborhood in which we gave out a single digit number of full-size candy bars on a typical Halloween, I am pleased to now live in a pre-war streetcar neighborhood where we just gave out ~350 mini candies to costumed pedestrians.
“The European Union struck a deal on Thursday on a law to effectively ban the sale of new petrol and diesel cars from 2035” Following in the footsteps of California! www.reuters.com/markets/e…
“We’re ready to believe you” it says. So, should I try calling the number to report ghouls that have been swirling in the skies of Alameda, shrieking of “the city charter”-this and “commonsense”-that and “protecting our established neighborhoods”?
“Personally, [Dr. Bob] Wachter said he has never been on Instagram and isn’t sure what it does, and he is only on Facebook to follow his children. If he were to leave Twitter…” www.sfchronicle.com/health/ar…
Odds are good that a majority of #alamtg City Council will soon approve the Housing Element and associated Zoning Amendments — and to defend against lawsuits from zomby NIMBYs — but if not, the builders remedy is already at the ready around town…
Good job, ice cream truck driver. Thanks for respecting the protected bike lane.
I took a pic of plaques in the Alameda Free Library to quip about Tony Daysog’s never-ending #alamtg tenure – but then realized the name that’s missing: current-mayor Ezzy Ashcraft, who led the successful Measure O campaign mentioned on the lower plaque.
I’d wager that this pumpkin weighs in at 5,353 housing units, plus a buffer #alamtg
